Dominion Valley Garden Club

Friends Growing Together
About Us
For over 50 years, the members of the Dominion Valley Garden Club have shared a genuine camaraderie and keen interest in expanding their knowledge and understanding of all things gardening related. Each meeting we invite a speaker to share their expertise on a variety of topics. At least twice a year we substitute a field trip for the regular meeting format. We meet monthly from September to May on Tuesday mornings.
The DVGC Bylaws list 5 primary objectives:
• To engage in activities which are charitable, educational, and scientific.

• To further the education of members and the public in the fields of gardening, horticulture, floral design, landscape design, environmental awareness, civic beautification, and nature studies.

• To instill in our youth the love of gardening and protection and respect for the environment.

• To aid in the protection of native trees, plants, and birds.

• To encourage civic planting and outside beautification and interest in environmental issues.
Our members participate in a wide array of activities and projects:
• Designing and continuing to maintain a Blue Star Memorial Garden at the Fairfax Station Railroad Museum

• Conducting floral-related activities with residents of senior centers in our community

• Providing youth-focused projects including an annual Seed to Sprout program at the Burke Centre Library

• Designing and helping to maintain a Pollinator Garden at the Burke Centre Library

The Dominion Valley Garden Club is a member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc.; Central Atlantic Region; National Capital Area Garden Clubs Inc.; and District II. The chart below illustrates this affiliation.
