To submit award documents to District II and to the
National Capital Area Garden Clubs (NCAGC).
To ensure the DVGC garden at the Historic St.
Mary’s Catholic Church in Fairfax Station and the
Pollinator Garden at the Burke Centre Library are
maintained.
To create an annual DVGC yearbook and preserve
the history of the club.
To collect all fees and to maintain records related
to the membership of the DVGC.
To maintain the DVGC’s Website, the Google
Groups mailing list, and the DVGC Facebook
page.
To maintain the Blue Star Memorial Garden and
beds at the Fairfax Station Railroad Museum.
To bring DVGC members together to conduct
floral-related activities with residents of senior
centers in our community.
To provide members with information about plants,
their habitat, and tips for growing plants.
To publish a monthly newsletter that features
information about DVGC activities and members.
To maintain a culture of caring and connection by
providing support and acknowledgement to
members during difficult and celebratory times.
To present information on conservation or recycling
at each DVGC general meeting.
To encourage new membership. Each member is
assigned a 2-week period to place a flower
arrangement at the Burke Centre Library.
To provide refreshments for DVGC meetings held
at the Fairfax Station Railroad Museum.
To increase community awareness of the DVGC
and to encourage new members to join the club.
To provide youth-focused projects in our
community including the annual Seed to Sprout
program at the Burke Centre Library and the
Preschool Garden.
