Purpose:

As a way of encouraging new membership, DVGC places simple flower arrangements with a framed name plate, our brochures, and business cards at the information counter at the Burke Centre Library. This display draws attention to the club’s presence in the community and promotes community interest in the club. We have enrolled several new members because of the project.  Arrangements have included offerings of home garden flowers, succulents, potted bulbs, flowers purchased locally and a Lego arrangement made of Lego blocks.  Flowers are enjoyed by staff and the 350-400 people who visit the library each week.

Experience has shown that providing an arrangement at the beginning of each week, as well as conditioning the flowers and keeping the water clean, helps to keep them fresh. If you find you can no longer fulfill your two-week commitment, please find someone to fill in for you.

DVGC uses the Signup Genius app for members to register for their two weeks to provide flowers at Burke Center Library. The app sends reminders to each person prior to their two weeks.
